Quality, affordable health care should be a right, not a privilege. Universal Health Care

Quality, affordable health care should be a right, not a privilege. The Congressional Budget Office had estimated that repeal of the Affordable Care Act would have left 23 million more Americans uninsured while introducing tax cuts that would have overwhelmingly benefited those with the highest incomes. Healthcare should not be for profit. No one should go bankrupt over medical expenses. Americans need peace of mind, and must focus on getting well instead of paying exorbitant medical bills. In a global economy, our businesses can become more competitive when they are not burdened by the extreme costs of providing health insurance for their employees. We must extend Medicare to ALL age groups.

Opioid Crisis

The scourge of opioid addiction has hit the state of Ohio very hard. The crisis demands immediate attention with greater access to treatment for those affected, holding pharmaceutical companies accountable and providing necessary resources to law enforcement.

Abortion

I believe that abortion is a very hard decision for any woman, and access to abortion should always be protected. I believe that we must never take away the right of a woman to seek a safe option for her health care. I believe in access to birth control, health care, as well as housing and childcare assistance. When we focus on empowering women we empower society
